Overgrown Property? The Right Equipment Makes Clearing Brush & Trees Easier

October 15, 2026

That patch of brush behind the barn. The fallen tree blocking your trail. The wooded area you’ve been meaning to clean up for years.

Sound familiar?

If you own property in Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin or Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, you know how quickly vegetation can take over. What starts as a little brush can become a serious project.

A Cat® compact track loader (CTL) with the right attachments can help you take back your property without spending every weekend doing the heavy lifting yourself.

Take Back Your Property

Whether you’re clearing a fence line, opening a hunting trail or cleaning up after a storm, a CTL can help you:

• Clear thick brush and vegetation with a compatible Cat mulcher.

• Move fallen trees, logs and limbs using a Cat grapple, rake, or grapple bucket.

• Open and maintain trails through wooded areas using a Cat brush cutter.

And when the clearing is finished, the same machine can grade rough ground, move dirt or spread gravel.

Built for Midwest Property Challenges

From muddy ground and thick brush in Missouri and Illinois to wooded acreage and rocky terrain in Wisconsin and the U.P., clearing land isn’t always straightforward.

A CTL’s tracked undercarriage provides traction and flotation across varied terrain. But saturated soil, steep slopes and hidden obstacles still require careful planning.

The right equipment matters. So does knowing your ground.

The Next Generation Cat 255, 265, 275 and 285 Compact Track Loaders offer a range of capabilities for property maintenance and land clearing.

The 255 and 265 provide versatile performance in smaller machine sizes, while the 275 and 285 offer additional lifting capability for heavier projects.

The right machine depends on your acreage, the material you’re handling and the attachments you’ll use. Fabick Cat can help you find the right fit without paying for more machine than you need.
