COMMITTED TO SAFE SERVICE

Fabick Cat is committed to safe service. A safe and healthy workplace is a fundamental right of every person. It is imperative that we take responsibility for maintaining a safe environment by doing what we can to minimize the risk of incidents, injury and exposure to health hazards for all our employees and customers. As a company we work diligently to provide top-of-the-line equipment, resources and training as a starting point to create a safe work environment; but only by individually empowering every employee can we truly prevent unsafe conditions in the workplace.

Our goal is to be an industry leader in safety, health & environmental issues, and to take full responsibility for every company and employee action. We continuously search for innovative ways to motivate and educate our employees, customers and valued partners. Our leadership team fully supports a wide range of safety programs to drive engagement in workplace safety, reduce incidents and improve overall outcomes.

Everyone has the right to STOP an unsafe situation!

“When I see something unsafe, I will stop and do something,” is not just a pledge, it is the core of our employee safety strategy. Empowered employees drive all our safety efforts and are encouraged to proactively address their safety concerns and communicate openly about any safety issues they observe. With open dialogue and strong engagement, we continue to improve and maintain an atmosphere of health and well-being in everything we do.

SAFETY RESOURCES

Our commitment to safe service extends beyond our facilities. Customer safety is just as important to us. As one of the most experienced names in the industry, Caterpillar Safety Services can guide you toward better safety – with these valuable resources to support your staff.

OUR SAFETY PROGRAMS

Fabick Cat believes that all incidents and injuries can be prevented, and workplace risks can be managed and reduced. Our comprehensive safety programs drive employee engagement at every level and keep safety in focus every day. Learn more about some of our featured safety programs below.

TAKE 5

Every job in this industry poses unique risks and our actions can influence how much risk we are exposed to. Take 5 is our standard for Task Hazard Assessment. It’s the 5 questions we ask at the beginning of any job:

  1. DETERMINE THE TASKS OF THE PROJECT: What are we going to do and how are we going to do it?
  2. IDENTIFY THE SAFETY CONCERNS: What are the hazards and what might go wrong?
  3. DISCUSS SOLUTIONS THAT WILL ELIMINATE OR MINIMIZE THE HAZARDS: What tools and PPE do we need, procedures to follow, etc?
  4. ASSIGN PERSONS RESPONSIBLE FOR ADDRESSING EACH OF THE HAZARDS: Who is responsible for each task?
  5. AS THE TASK OR CONDITIONS CHANGE, STOP AND RE-EVALUATE!

SAFETY OBSERVATIONS

Have you thanked someone for working safely today? Employees across our organization do so daily! The safety observation program drives safety engagement by focusing on the small things we do to prevent risk. A “positive observation” is a public kudos for working safely and a “near miss” is a streamlined way to report a potential issue: preventing danger in the future.

Submitting just one Safety Observation a day helps employees be more aware of their surroundings. While prevention is everyone’s responsibility, the acknowledgement of a job well done is always appreciated. This program makes sure that our focus on safety is literal, every day.

KNOW YOUR WHY

Safety matters, but have you asked yourself why? Every employee has a reason why safety matters to them. It may be their friends or their family, a passion or a hobby, or maybe they just want to enjoy their life free from injury. Whatever the reason, safety is personal. The Know Your Why program seeks to build community and foster personal investment in the safety of others by reminding everyone of the value workplace safety brings to our lives.
