Happy Thanksgiving! From the Fabick Cat Family to Yours
When we stop and reflect on what makes Fabick Cat an amazing place to work the answer is always: the people. We’re thankful for our wonderful customers, our trusted partners and each of our employees that make every year a success. Fabick Cat is proud to be serving you this year, and we wanted to share our heartfelt appreciation for the work we are all doing together in our communities. We hope you have a wonderful day celebrating all there is to be thankful for.
A Fabick Family Thanksgiving Tradition
Each year Fabick Cat expresses gratitude for our employees with the festive gift of a turkey for Thanksgiving. When the tradition began in the 1950’s, every employee was given a wicker basket filled with all the Thanksgiving dinner necessities; bread, canned goods, vegetables, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie mix and cranberry sauce to enjoy with their family. As the company continued to grow, the Fabick family stayed committed in sharing this holiday gift with all employees. Although the gift has varied over the years, the turkey tradition remains to this day.
A History of Charitable Giving
The Fabick family has always been committed to helping those in the community as well. One example was the annual holiday gifts to the Hessoun Bohemian Catholic orphanage for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This relationship continued to develop over the years holding a soft spot with the Fabick family for helping children in need. The land where the orphanage once stood was ultimately purchased by John Fabick II and donated to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital – a not-for-profit pediatric medical center located in St. Louis, MO. The turkey tradition, as well as the strong relationship between Fabick Cat and Cardinal Glennon, still stands true today.
