FABTECH is an affordably priced, accredited technical diploma series of courses focused on developing entry-level technicians in the construction equipment, engine and electric power-generation fields. Located on the Fox Valley Technical College Spanbauer campus in Oshkosh, WI, the 12,800-square-foot FABTECH education center contains state-of-the-art classrooms and shop facilities equipped with the latest electronic diagnostic equipment and current-model Cat equipment.

Students not only receive a Technical Diploma but can apply the credits earned toward an Associates of Applied Science degree in Construction Equipment Technology or Electric Power Generation and Marine Engine Technology. This program provides students with opportunity to be on-the-job and earning a good income at one of Fabick Cat’s locations in 12 months.

In addition to substantial financial support, Fabick Cat brings the capabilities of its entire organization as well as the assistance of our partners to this innovative technical college program. Students are trained by experienced Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) instructors and have the opportunity to work on current model Cat equipment, engines, generators and switchgear using the latest tools and advanced diagnostic technology.

Choose Your Path

Construction Equipment Service Technicians receive training in basic and advanced courses in electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems. In addition, they focus on the Cat engines that power this equipment. They complete courses in preventative maintenance, engine testing and diagnostics and engine overhauling. Once Construction Equipment Service Technicians learn the foundations for the equipment, they receive advanced training in drive train repair and complete a diesel internship.

Electric Power Generation (EPG) / Marine Service Technicians receive training in basic and advanced courses in electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems. In addition, they focus on Cat engines that power the equipment. They complete courses in preventative maintenance, engine testing & diagnostic and engine overhauling. Once EPG/Marine Service Technicians learn the foundations for the equipment, they take advanced electronic courses such as Ladder Logic & Control, AC Circuits 1, Electric Power Generation and a diesel internship.
