Course Description
This course will review all mechanical and electronic systems used on 2007 heavy-duty truck engines. Discussion will be focused on changes that were made to the C13 and C15 ACERT engines.
I. 2004 through 2007 C13 / C15 ACERT engines
A. System overview
1. Caterpillar CRS (Cat Regeneration System)
a. ARD (After-treatment Regeneration Device), DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), CGI (Clean Gas Induction)
2. Variable valve actuation, exhaust after treatment.
B. Cat electronics
1. Sensors
2. Actuators
3. Injectors
4. Rerates
